OTTAWA - The Canadian Centre for Child Protection has launched a new website featuring Michael Dunahee, who went missing 20 years ago in Victoria.

The missingkids.ca site includes a video of Dunahee, who was snatched from a sports field when he was four years old.

Federal Justice Minister Rob Nicholson says the website is an important step forward in the effort to find children who have gone missing.

Families can register their missing child on the site, which uses search tools including social media and wireless technologies to locate kids.

It is also an online billboard for public alerts about missing children and provides a downloadable community response plan to help co-ordinate search efforts.

Michael's mother, Crystal Dunahee, says the website accepts anonymous tips that can be passed to investigators and she says it's one of the best resources she's seen to help parents searching for a youngster.
